When a side needs 21 runs in the penultimate over, they can count on Mahendra Singh Dhoni. And that is exactly what Chennai Super Kings (CSK) did in their IPL encounter against Rajasthan Royals (RR) last night. It was also Dhoni’s 200th match as the captain of CSK. The anxiety was obvious in the air.
You don’t just call Dhoni Thala for no reason. Dhoni accepted the challenge on his own. Dhoni gave his all for the squad as around 2.2 crore fans watched the live IPL match online. All of this happened in the final over of the game at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, when the RR captain handed over the ball to Sandeep Sharma. When CSK needed 19 runs, Dhoni hit two sixes.
Dhoni demonstrated his outstanding talents with two wide balls, a dot, and a yorker by Sandeep Sharma. CSK eventually lost the match by three runs. People complimented Sandeep Sharma’s flawless abilities in the field, but it was none other than Mahendra Singh Dhoni who won everyone’s heart.
