This is a festival is celebrated in remote places of Maharashtra. This festival involves parents throwing their newborn babies from the tower. The babies are caught by the villagers who stand down the tower. The villagers use a blanket to catch the baby. They believe that this ritual will bless the baby with a healthy and wealthy life.

3) Cannibalism Followed By Aghori

In the banks of the Ganges in Kasi. Aghori’s- followers of Lord Shiva, the god of destruction. Aghori believe that everything that has been created is pure and hence don’t keep them away from the taboos. They practice weird postmortem rituals one of them is eating the flesh of the dead corpse.

4) The Firewalk 

This custom is carried out mostly in Tamil Nadu. The custom is celebrated to honor the deity- Draupadi Amman. It is followed in the months of October and November. Male and female devotees walk over a heap of burning coal. Carrying a pot of water over their head to maintain balance. This is done to showcase their devotion to the deity.

5) The Fertility Festival

This is carried out in the monsoon season in Guwahati, Assam. It is celebrated to showcase their devotion to Devi Kamakhya – the mother of nurturing power and fertility. The festival celebrates the yearly menstrual cycle of Devi Kamakhya. It s believed that during her periods the earth becomes unclean and hence the temple is closed for three days. After the purification, the temple is opened and a yoni-shaped stone symbolizing the deity is bathed and covered in red cloth

6) The Royal Cuisine Of Kashmir

Wazwan is a royal cuisine cooked overnight following the traditional procedure under the supervision of a master chef, Vaste Waze, and the 36-course meal is served on a tram- a platter. All the Kashmiris pray to their respective gods before feasting.
