On Thursday, November 9, a lady conservancy worker was killed in a vehicle accident. This incident took place near Thiruvanmiyur in Chennai on an East Coast vehicle (ECR). V. Sivakami, a Kannagi Nagar resident in Chennai, was identified as the deceased.
She worked as a conservancy staffer in Ward 180 for a private conservancy organisation contracted by the Greater Chennai Corporation (GCC). The lady has been working near the Thiruvanmiyur Regional Transport Office signal earlier in the morning.
As she ended her task at about 4.30 a.m., a car travelling from Thiruvanmiyur to the ECR road hit her and threw her onto the road. She was hit by a truck on its way to Neelangarai in a matter of seconds. While the car driver came to a complete stop, the truck driver did not. She died on the scene, and her body was taken to the Royapettah Government Hospital for a post-mortem examination.

The Adyar Traffic Investigation Wing has filed a case and arrested the car driver, identified as Ashwant, 25, of Mugalivakkam in Chennai. The police, on the other hand, are looking for the truck driver.
