In a shocking incident, a 25-year-old Dalit man was killed in full public view. This happened in a case of honor killing. The deceased is identified as B Nagaraju. He was traveling on a motorbike with his wife, Syed Ashrin Sulthana on Wednesday night. That’s when they were confronted by two men.
One of them was Syed Mobin Ahmed. He was Nagaraju’s brother in law. Nagaraju and Sulthana knen each other since school. Her family opposed their affair as he belonged to the Mala community. Which is a Scheduled Caste in the state. While they belonged to Syed which is regarded as an upper caste.

Syed Mobin Ahmed opposed his sister’s relationship with Nagaraju. And had even warned her against it. On Wednesday, he and another man, identified as Mohammed Masood Ahmed stopped them in Saroornagar. After that, the duo forced Nagaraju to the ground and beat him up with a rod, and stabbed him to death. Finally, they fled the place. Both the accused were arrested on Thursday.
“Case registered under IPC Section 302, SC/ST Act. The investigation is to be concluded soon. We’ll involve in fast track court so that its trial is concluded soon, and the accused are penalised. Nagaraju’s family will be provided with financial benefits, job”, said DCP of LB Nagar.
The Hindu-Muslim couple were classmates in school and college. And were in love for more than five years even though her family opposed the relationship. They got married on January 31 this year in an Arya Samaj ceremony in Hyderabad.
