Transphobia and transmisogyny are two of the many things we need to stop already. Its’ 2021 and people still can’t get over it.
Remember Namitha Marimuthu’s speech from “Oru Kadha Sollata”?
Well most of us do! Everyone in and out of the house was moved by her speech. In conclusion of her speech she said “Neenga ellaarum yengala vedikai porul ah mattum dhaan paakuringa” (All of you see us only as some sort of spectacle)?.
However, Namitha despite being a strong contestant had to walk out of the show due to unspoken reasons.
Following this, the contestants in their next task had to bring out any emotion from the targeted contestants. Owing to the task, Abhishek and Niroop decided to dress up in female attire and thought this was a good way to make them laugh and lose.
Now it’s not just the contestant’s fault the makers and editors thought it was okay to telecast such stuff.
One of the other contestants made fun of the scenario too and said…
ungala pombala veshathula paathathum ennakku seeripu thaangala, antha Niroop ellam thaadiya vachikitu. Ayyayyo!” (I could barely contain my laughter seeing you two costumed as women, especially Niroop with his beard!)
You see? How we can figure out that nothing has really changed? Dressing up as a woman is funny, why? Women wear jeans, T-Shirts and Shirts all the time, How is it funny again?
This is how the netizens are reacting:
This is also Transmisogyny.
Wearing femine clothes is not a thing to be made fun of. Feminity is not a joke. If Women can wear shirts and respected why not Men ? It is frowned upon the society. https://t.co/TiO2mlwbKY

Would things have been the same if Namitha had still been in the house? Is the house even safe for someone like Namitha anymore?
