Nike trades virtual sneakers for $186,000 in the metaverse. The point is nobody can actually wear them. They are exactly virtual and there is no material alternative exists.
Nike dropped their brand unique range of ‘Nike Dunk Genesis Cryptokicks’ that can be bought as NFTs. These shoes are adorable and trendy. And you would evolve into a fashionista of the digital setting if you are wealthy enough to buy these sneakers. Since the virtual sneakers were established, people are spending more than $80,000 (Rs 61 lakh) for some rare pairs – even though they aren’t real.
More than $14 million has been spent on the purchase of this digital zest. Crypto holders are paying between $10,500 and $12,500 for a pair that could be further accessorised with expensive periodic skins. One of the sneaker skin is called Alien. And that was bought for $630,000.
Will you purchase a shoe that you can’t wear?
