Selvaraghavan is one of the most talented directors in the Tamil cinema industry. He has a stable place in the hearts of Tamil people with his unique filmmaking style and creative storytelling ability. Initially, he started his career as a writer, but he became a director with his younger brother Dhanush’s debut film, ‘Thulluvadho Ilamai’. After that, he directed the second film ‘Kadhal Konden’ in 2003 with Dhanush. Through this film, Soniya Agarwal made her debut as a heroine in Tamil cinema.
Following the massive success of “Kadhal Kondon,” Selvaraghavan continued to deliver blockbuster hits such as “7G Rainbow Colony,” “Pudhupettai,” “Ayirathil Oruvan,” and “Mayakkam Enna.” Sonia Agarwal acted in many of his films and fell in love with him. Then director Selvaraghavan got married to Sonia Agarwal in 2006. But unfortunately, their married life lasted for only two years. Selvaraghavan and Sonia Agarwal got divorced in 2009 due to some personal issues.
After her divorce, Sonia Agarwal has not been getting opportunities to play a heroine, so she is playing glamorous character roles. But Selvaraghavan got married to Gitanjali Raman in June 2011 after his divorce. Now, this beautiful couple has three children. After lots of ups and downs in his personal life, Selavarghavan has become a successful director in Kollywood. He also started acting in films as a lead. Beast, Saani Kayitham, and Bagasuran are some of his recent films.
Recently, Selvaraghavan also opened up in an interview with the YouTube channel. A reporter asked him to share the biggest lesson he had learned in his life. Answering to it, Selva revealed how he overcame his first failure, with its ups and downs. Along with it, Selva also revealed what his brother Dhanush said to him when he got divorced from Soniya Agarwal.

‘Dhanush said, Don’t marry again. God has given you a good opportunity. Stay single’ to me. But I had hope that Gitanjali would definitely bring a wonderful change to my life. And it happened. Selva also said, ‘If you truly love someone, a huge change will take place, even if it fails, just change it’.
