Doctors Suggests Health Minister To Allow 2nd Booster Dose Due To Increase In Covid 19 Cases

During the virtual meeting with Mansukh Mandaviya, the union health minister. All doctors are suggesting a second booster shot for the people in the country. Due to the increase in the covid cases. The union health minister has asked the Indian Medical Association(IMA) to gear up and prepare awareness of the current situation.

The former president of IMA, Dr JA Jayalal said all the frontline workers and healthcare department should consider a fourth dose. Some people also suggested for masks to be made compulsory. And people start maintaining social distance.

While Dr. Sahajanand Prasad Singh, the national president of IMA said, the booster coverage in India is just 30%. Indians need to make sure the maximum number of people have taken precautionary doses.

While the meeting started off with the increase in Covid 19 cases in the neighbouring countries like China, South Korea, Thailand and Japan. But the covid situation in India is very different. While the cases were reduced last year to less than 100 in december.

While Mandaviya was stressed on how to prevent Covid 19 and share verified and authentic information. The doctors must also know how to educate the public on every aspect and how to prevent and manage the disease.

Mandaviya said,

“You have been our ambassadors during the country’s fight against Covid. I value your contribution and salute the selfless dedication and service of healthcare professionals. I urge you to be our partners and ambassadors to prevent an infodemic by educating the public on various aspects of the disease and its prevention and management aspects”

The Union minister also emphasises on reducing the risk and also not panicking the citizens with the Covid 19 data. The government is trying to increase the efforts of the vaccination programme. They are also aiming at providing, “test-track-treat-vaccinate” program.India is also planning to have a mock drill to check on the readiness of health facilities and how they would deal with covid 19 cases.

On 26th of December four foreigners from Thailand were tested positive while they arrived in Bihar. While testing a group of 33 foreigners last week. Only 4 females and one male was tested positive. While people in the age group 35-75 were stable they all were being isolated.

As per the data from the Union Health Ministry the active cases are 196 while the margin is increased to 3428.
