Women have always been the best at whatever they do. From acting in the movies to directing or writing characters. Here’s the proof that they can write better characters than men. As these movies were much popular and meaningful.
1) Description Of Female Friendship
While keeping friendship as the central theme. Meghana Gulzar’s Filhaal movie explores countless issues with care and sincerity. While Shashank Gosh’s Veere Di Wedding shows women’s life hanging around men.
2) Single, Older Women
Kamna and Tanuja Chandra’s Qarib Qarib Single depicts a woman willing to explore life. While on the other hand, Karan Johar introduces Miss Braganza (Kuch Kuch Hota Hai) as a comedy piece alone.
3) Women in Patriotic Films
Meghana Gulzar’s Raazi, with Alia Bhatt as a female protagonist. She refrained from hyper-nationalism and won the audience. Rather than just being a romantic heroine. Rohit Shetty’s Simmba, in which all the women are playing the same role including the heroine.
4) Mothers
In the movie English Vinglish, Gauri Shinde described the real life of a mother. Without decreasing the exact identity to just being a mother. She experiences a series of emotions.
However, in DDLJ and many other drama movies, women play ‘mom roles’ have no profile apart from being a mother.
5) Women Dealing with Breakup
Breakups are most distressing. Yet they are not the only means to live life. They don’t leave girls incapable. That’s the exact thing Zoya Akhtar depicted in Luck By Chance. In contrast, Rajat Mukherjee’s Pyaar Tune Kya Kiya women’s complete profile was reduced. It shows her weakness to not deal with the breakup.
6) Women owing up to their own desires.
In Dear Zindagi, Gauri Shinde showed how Kiara accepts her past life. Her desires and her unreciprocated love with maturity. Yet in Cocktail, here girls fight with each other over a man.
Despite everything, I believe the women are brave and strong enough to face each facet of life.
