Putting and end to foreign pop culture, North Korea banned residents from wearing tight pants. Kim Jong-un’s government has been protesting against Western culture affecting its socialist way of life.
President Kim Jong-un has declared yet another fashion rule. This action was taken after noticing the increase in the number of young people wearing skinny jeans. The Socialist Patriotic Youth League is a state-run youth organisation. It has launched a movement saying that North Korean hair and clothing style is a crucial element of socialist life.

The authorities say that they will prevent improper dress and hairstyles. And label them ‘anti-socialist and non-socialist behaviour’. Reports state that the authorities are filming women in the street. And identifying those who are failing to follow government fashion regulations.
Moreover, the footage report depicts the women as “capitalist lawbreakers” with “indecent clothes” and an “impure principles.”
