Jared Mauch, a resident of Washtenaw county was tired of paying internet bills. He was never happy about the speed that the network provider. However the man appoched another company for fibre connection. The company asked him to pay $50,000 installating in his rural home.
Jared being a network enginner got annoyed with his slow speed internet and built his own broadband. He named the brand Washtenaw Fibre Properties LLC. Hence, the government granted him $2.6 million to built a broadband. He initially had 70 customer and by the end of 2021 he had almost 600 customers.
Jared ones told the Technician,
“If they had priced it at $10,000, I would have written them a check. It was so high at $50,000 that it made me consider if this is worthwhile. Why would I pay them to expand their network if I get nothing back out of it?”

During the spread of Coronavirus, the US Government and the State and Local Fiscal Recovery Funds joined hands together. Funds of $71 million were assigned to the county. However some funds were given for the expansion of broadbands. In this period Jared’s broadband service won the bid. A sum of $2.6 million were given for the expansion.
Jared has solved the problem of slow internet in his area. He provides services that range between $55 to $79 a month. with a speed of 100MBps to 1Gbps. As per the reports the rural area does not have internet facilities due to lack of infrastructure. It is unbelievable to know almost 6.5 crore Americans survuve without internet.
