Mani Ratnam’s Direction Ponniyin Selvan Mint More Than ₹230 Crores So Far

Mani Ratnam, a prominent Kollywood director, has recently turned a historical novel into a movie, Pooniyin Selvan. The movie was released in theaters on September 30th, 2011, and cast celebrities from various film industries. Pooniyin Selvan has received a huge response not only within India but also across various countries. Countries like the USA, Australia, the UK, and New Zealand have crossed 33 crore in just 3 days.

This has so far been the number one Tamil movie in the opening weekend. Casting Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Karthi, Jayam Ravi, Aishwarya Lekshmi, Chiyaan Vikram, Trisha, Parthiban, and Sarathkumar.

Pooniyin Selvan 1 has earned Rs.200 crore across the globe in just 3 days. The movie has collected Rs. 64+ crore in the home state. Although Pooniyin Selvan has not earned huge responses in northern states and other parts of the south, the film has earned massive success overseas.
