Red Bus In Trouble? Chennai Woman Sexually Harrassed By Bus Staff While Sleeping

Shritu Prakash was traveliing from bangalore to Chennai on 7th July on a redbus with VHB Travels. The girl was sexually accused by the staff in the bus at mignight. As she was disturbed about the entire incident this young girl was unable to file an FIR due to mulitple reasons.

As per the reports by TNM Shriti says,

“After I awakened, I noticed a person mendacity down, under my decrease berth. After I requested him what he was doing there, he responded saying ‘his fingers had been with him’ despite the fact that I didn’t point out it. I instantly filed a criticism on the redBus app at round 4 am and by 4.20 am, the bus was stopped. I got here to know that the person was a bus staffer.”

The driver took an hour to reach chennai for a police intervention after an hour of rating. But Shruti did not file a complaint because the driver and other members said, “Your name will get spoilt”

A few days later when shriti contacted redBis and asked what actions were taken. They informed the owner of the bus would be taking charge of it. However there were neither any actions taken nor were the operator and redbus apologised for the entire incident. But they asked her not to post about this incident ask it would be a mark on her and also refused to compensate for the loss incured”.

Later as soon as shruti posted this on social media. RedBus and VHB company convinced her to remove the post and agreed to pay a compensation. However Shruti wanted to highlight this so that no one else faces the same again. As far as the offender is concered, He ran onces the bus stopped in chennai and no actions are taken on the same.

RedBus and VHB company has sent an email apologizing about the entire incident that happened with Shruti. However this is not the first time any complaint is raised against the bus operator with redBus. One such incident happened in 2016, where a woman was molested.
