Shocking: A Prisoner In Rajasthan Granted 15 days Parole By Jodhpur High Court To Get His Wife Pregnant

Believe it or not, Jodhpur High Court has granted a prisoner 15 days of parole to get his wife pregnant. This order was granted after the prisoner’s wife approached the court. She asked to claim her “right of progeny” seeking her husband’s release.

The decision was granted by the Jodhpur High Court bench of Justices Sandeep Mehta and Farzand Ali. The judges mentioned how the sexual and passionate needs of the prisoner’s wife were concerned due to his imprisonment.

That wasn’t it. The court also cited Hindu scriptures including Rig Veda. They also cited the doctrines of Judaism, Christianity, and Islam to grant 15 days of parole to the prisoner. The court underscored that conceiving a child is the first and a right of the woman.

The name of the prisoner is Nandlal. And his wife is identified as Rekha. The High Court ruled that having children for the sake of lineage was identified by Indian culture and various legal aspects. It stated that the right to satisfaction can be fulfilled through marital life. Which also has the effect of normalising the offender. It also helps to change the behaviour of the convict-prisoner.”

Nandlal is serving a life sentence. It is awarded by a Bhilwara court in Rajasthan. the prisoner is lodged in the Ajmer jail. He had been granted 20-day parole in 2021. The court noted that he behaved well during the parole period and surrendered when it expired.

The court said,

“Having progeny for the purpose of preservation of lineage, has been recognised through religious philosophies, the Indian culture, and various judicial pronouncements. It said, “the right of progeny can be completed by conjugal association, the same as an impact of normalising the convict and also helps to alter the behaviour of the convict-prisoner.”
