Korean drama has become a global phenomenon for a decade now. However, Chinese culture has been growing rapidly and has been attracting fans globally for years. It’s surprising to see how much people have started talking about the Chinese dramas
Let’s look into the differences between Chinese drama and Korean drama
Chinese dramas are known for their historical and fancy style. Korean dramas are more modern and romantic
K dramas are lively. A drama is still being filmed while it is on air. The director and screenwriter has the tendency to change anytime if the audience has any feedback. There are changes for the story to be screwed.
In C dramas the dramas are pre-filled. There are no changes for a change. The dramas are not on air until the production, post-production and censorship process is finished. There are times when people have been waiting for years for the episode.
Chinese dramas are longer than Korean dramas.
C dramas have 30-70 episodes of 30-40 min each.
Korena dramas have 16-20 episodes of 60-90 min each. The wait time for K dramas is more than C dramas.
K dramas are written by professional screenwriters and C dramas are usually novels based on cultural intellectual property.
There is no exact reason how a drama should be made. There is no right or wrong way of creating a drama. Both Korean and Chinese dramas are successful in their own ways
