“The Family Man 1” is the thriller web series on amazon prime which left everyone on a cliff-hanger. With high hopes, the directors came up with season 2. Unfortunately, it led to misadventure.
The TN government requests a ban on publicizing “The Family Man 2” web series by amazon prime across the nation.
T. Mano Thangaraj, the minister of information and technology in TN wrote a letter to Prakash Javadekar, the union administrator of the ministry of information and broadcasting for a speedy response to halt the release of “ The Family Man 2” series nationwide.
The trailer released on May 19 portrayed the “Eelam Tamils of Sri Lanka in an objectionable manner.”
Keeping in mind the emotional state of residences of Tamil Nadu and the Eelam Tamilians, Thangaraj stated that “ The above serial
has not only hurt the sentiments of Eelam Tamilians but also the feelings of people of Tamil Nadu in large-scale and if allowed to broadcast, it would be detrimental to the maintenance of harmony in the state.” In a shout out he also mentioned that the contents of the serial are considered malicious, inappropriate, and condemnable.
The minister also spoke about famous actress Samantha Akkineni where he mentioned: “branding Tamil-speaking actress Samantha as a terrorist was directly an attack on the pride of Tamilians living around the world and no one will tolerate this kind of motivated and mischievous campaign”.
“The sacrifices of their long drawn out democratic battle has been intentionally undermined and it could not, by any stretch of the imagination, be considered merely as a serial with any value for Tamil culture. Moreover, a serial which is loaded with insults and insinuations against the glorious Tamil culture could never be considered as the one having any broadcast value”, the minister added.
Falling into pieces, he also mentioned “while our brethren Eelam Tamilians are struggling to enjoy the fruits of equality, justice, peace, and dignity in the island nation, it is highly unwarranted for an organization like amazon prime to undertake this kind of smear campaign against the Tamilians who are the builders of India and well as many nations across the globe.”
The initiative was taken by the chairman of the Naam Tamilar Katchi Party S Seeman for a ban on its release.
