Actor Suriya’s ‘Jai Bhim’ is currently breaking all the records of IMDB in the world with 9.6 ratings. The film has put the characters into trouble, especially the actor for hurting the sentiments of the Vanniyar community.
The Twitter controversies started first when PMK leader Anbumani Ramadoss wrote a letter to Suriya with nine questions and sought answers from him for the actor replied that his team had no intention of hurting any community whatsoever. Unfortunately on Monday, Siddhamalli Pazhaniswamy said whoever physically attack actor Suriya and warn him not to enter Mayiladuthurai, will be awarded one lakh rupees.
The Vanniyar Sangam has also filed a case against actor Suriya, his wife Jyothika, director Gnanavel, and two others seeking a whooping rupees five crores compensation for hurting the community. The hashtag #WeStandWithSuriya has been trending worldwide for the past few days.
One of the best directors Vitrimaaran came out today to support actor Suriya stating, “No one can be made to feel lesser for doing the right thing#Jaibheem. Suriya is one star who is redefining stardom.”
The ‘Vadivasal’ filmmaker has added “The commitment of T.J. Gnanavel to make this film to let the world know the plight of the victims and Suriya’s constant efforts towards social justice, on and offscreen is truly inspiring #JaiBhim. It’s only natural these films cause angst amongst those who don’t want the status quo to change. #WeStandWith Suriya. Films that question the inequalities and injustices of a society too are weapons towards social justice. We stand by the whole team of ‘Jai Bhim’.
