Vijay Sethupathi Reject His Upcoming Project And A New Actor Gets Hired For Movie “800”

In the upcoming movie “800”, about a famous Sri Lankan cricketer, Muttiah Muralitharan, Kollywood actor Vijay Sethupathi was selected to play the role, but as per the recent news, he is replaced by Madhurr Mittal. The team released its first poster, which surprisingly featured Muralitharan as Madhurr Mittal instead of Vijay Sethupathi.

MS Sripathy is directing the movie after considering all the records and wickets taken by the famous cricketer. The movie will be released in Tamil, Hindi, and Telugu. Slumdog Millionaire’s star Madhurr Mittal is all set and excited to play the role of the legendary cricket player.

The movie “800” chronicles the life and history of Muttiah Muralitharan. The first poster of the movie was released on Muralitharan’s birthday, featuring Madhurr Mittal as the main character. The stunning cricket player started playing at the age of 12. Despite facing a lot of challenges due to his unique bowling style, the cricketer toned his bowling skills and became one of the most successful cricketers in history.

While it is not easy to survive as a cricketer, Muralitharan faced a lot of controversy while throwing the ball and also faced accusations of chucking during his career. He was also involved in political controversies in support of Sri Lankans during the country’s civil war.

Initially, in 2020, the maker of the movie “80” announced Vijay Sethupathi to play the role of Muralitharan. However, the actor backlashed as he was in the opposite political party that supported Tamil Nadu instead of the Sri Lankan government.

However, during this period, Muralitharan defended himself, saying he never disrespected Eelam Tamils. But some reports say that he supported Sri Lankan governments and made some insensitive remarks at the end of the civil war. After all the conversation, actor Vijay Sethupathi decided to drop the project, and actor Madhurr Mittal was selected to play the role of Muralitharan.
