Krafton, the South Korean developer of PUBG Mobile declared it is getting back the popular game PUBG to India under the brand new name ‘Battlegrounds Mobile India.’ This new game uses the color palette of the Indian flag and is largely a replica of PUBG Mobile. It claims that this will offer a world-class AAA multiplayer and free-to-play gaming experience on mobile phones.
The pre-registration of the mobile app will launch way ahead of time but anything specific is yet to be announced. The renowned PUBG Mobile has been developed for the world’s second-largest internet market according to Krafton.
Krafton had cut all ties with its publishing partner Tencent. They got a deal with Microsoft pledging a 100 million investment in the gaming ecosystem.
The main priority of Krafton was privacy and data security. Krafton will be working for this, to make sure data protection and security, at each stage. This will make sure all privacy rights are respected, and all data collection and storage will be recorded only with the permission of the user with all applicable laws and rules in India.
It is still not sure whether the association got any approval from the country to launch the new version. Earlier this year, the Indian government was adamant about keeping the ban on various Chinese apps. This isn’t the first time Krafton has announced PUBG Mobile’s return to India.
PUBG mobile before being banned in India was the most popular mobile game in the country. The app had over 50 million monthly active users overall. Even after it was banned PUBG Mobile still had over 10 million users in India. Many tech junkies have been using VPN tools to avoid restrictions.
Rishi Alwani said this game has helped establish an entire ecosystem of e-sports organisations and even a cottage industry of streamers that made the most of its spectator sport-friendly gameplay.
To protect the well-being of minors Battlegrounds Mobile in India will launch with a lot of restrictions. Youngsters will have to give the following details to be allowed to play, the phone number of their parent or guardian to play the game. The daily time and money spent will be limited to 3 hours and only up to $95 can be spent.
