Orbital Assembly Corporation is a US-based space company. It is designing and creating plans for a Space Business Park. This is designed to accommodate offices and research spaces for rent. The newly announced projects demonstrate that it will consist of several units linked by elevator shafts to form a charkha (wheel)-like station moving around the earth. However, It may all sound difficult. But the mechanism managing its function is an easy one.
Tim Alatorre, Orbital Assembly’s chief operating officer.
“The station rotates, driving the contents of the station out to the perimeter of the station. This is done in the way that you can spin a bucket of water. The water pushes out into the bucket and stays in place.”
Orbital Assembly wants to construct not one, but two stations. The smaller one is the Pioneer Station. This can adapt around 28 people. And is going to start a business in 2025. The larger one is the Voyager Station. It is a more majestic experience. And can bear up to 400 people. It will likely open in 2027.
The renderings of the interiors of both stations bring the sense that they will be extravagance residential and working sites offering the best sceneries of the earth from space. Alatorre also mentions that these adventures will not just be for the rich. And will be “available to everyone” while repeating his dedication to developing an alluring “sustainable communities” up in space.
