Cybercrime is the new generation’s crime. Many prefer it as it’s easier to fool people and hard to track down the actual criminal.
Anyways one such incident occurred in Mumbai!
A woman and tried to order liquor online around 7 pm on Wednesday. The couple decided to place an order worth 1,700 from a local store.
After this, the woman got a call from the man duping as the retailer. He asked her to scan the QR code sent on her WhatsApp.
As soon as she finished scanning, Rs. 19,860 got debited from her account. This fraudster sent her multiple QR codes. While she had a confrontation with him he credited back Rs. 10. Following this, Rs 81,200 was debited again. Further, he asked for some other bank details due to a server glitch with hers.

She next shared her husband’s details and Rs 79, 460 was withdrawn. While she kept calling he said he is on the way for delivery and would resolve the matter in person. However, so far she spent a total of Rs. 1.6 lakhs.
In conclusion, this lady had the realization after no one reached her home. Then they paid a visit to the liquor store. Here the couple found that there was actually no one from the store contacting!
The Mumbai police are currently looking for the culprit!
