If you go to a mall, you will see everyone from security guards to salespeople. Inside businesses stand for hours on end without being given a chair to sit on. Consider how fatigued they must be towards the middle of the day. And how difficult it must be for them to persevere until their shift is done.
Similarly, Shobana Ravi, an author, came to Twitter to share a photo of a worker at a baggage pickup and drop zone opposite the lift at Chennai’s Phoenix Mall. She stated that the individual had been standing since 12 p.m. and that his shift ends at 8.30 p.m. He wasn’t given a chair to sit on, so he was leaning against the sign board for some relief.
This young man was seen standing in this place under the escalator since 12 noon (at Chennai Phoenix mall again. I come to know that their duty hours are from 12 noon to 8.30 PM.) He did not have a seat. I noticed that no seat has been provided for him. Unable to stand he was… pic.twitter.com/kbqFTANoZ7

She questioned the mall’s management, calling them “cruel” for forcing a worker to stand for so long.
Other online posted similar accounts of labourers not just around the country, but also in foreign locations, who are forced to work in similar inhumane conditions. They chastised the organisations for mistreating their employees and declared it illegal. Take a look at this:
In most of the private schools there is no chair🪑for teachers to sit, the teachers will have continuous classes also.

I found this inhumanity prevailing across London in all shops and malls. Employees need to be on their feet for the full 6-hr shift they work there. And many wore heels too.

Today my father was talking to a salesman in a reliance store and he said he has to stand and do duty for 12 hrs!! @PMOIndia @LabourMinistry

In most big shops, especially the ones that came up in the last 20-25 years, salesmen and sales women can't sit. In jewellery shops (eg: GRT) they can't wear chappals or even socks, and bear the chillness of the floor for 12 hours.

My sis uses to work at Taj Mumbai and they stand in heels throughout their shift except for breaks.
Seen the same at Ginger— Sanjeev Chhabra (@chhabs63) July 15, 2023
It is sad to see how some malls, shops, and well-known stores genuinely abuse their employees inhumanely for sitting.
